(Hour + Minutes) 6:25 - Its six twenty-five 8:05 - Its eight O-five 9:11 - Its nine eleven 2:34 - Its two thirty-four 2) Say the minutes first and then the hour. (Minutes + PAST / TO + Hour) For minutes 1-30 we use PAST after the minutes. For minutes 31-59 we use TO after the minutes. 2:35 - Its twenty-five to three 11:20 - Its twenty past eleven 4:18 - Its eighteen past four 8:51 - Its nine to nine When it is 15 minutes past the hour we normally say: ( a ) quarter past 7:15 - Its (a) quarter past seven When it is 15 minutes before the hour we normally say: a quarter to 12:45 - Its (a) quarter to one When it is 30 minutes past the hour we normally say: half past 3:30 - Its half past three Oclock We use oclock when there are NO minutes . 10:00 - Its ten oclock 5:00 - Its five oclock 1:00 - Its one oclock For 12:00 there are four expressions in English. 12:00 ---- Its twelve oclock 12:00 midday = noon 12:00 / 00:00 midnight WRITE THE TIME 1____________ 2 ____________ 3 ______________ 4 ______________ AM vs. PM We dont normally use the 24-hour clock in English. We use a.m. (am) for the morning and p.m. (pm) for the afternoon and night. a.m. 00:00 – 11:59 p.m. 12:00 – 23:59 3 a.m. = Three oclock in the morning. 3 p.m. = Three oclock in the af
