Text Classification of Furnaces?(1) 1.Technological and Structural Classification of Furnaces By technological principle, all metallurgical furnaces are classed into melting and heating furnaces. Melting furnaces serve to make metals from ores and remelt metals for obtaining the de sired properties A characteristic feature of melting furnaces is that the materials processed in them change their state of aggregation. Heating furnaces are employed to heat materials for roasting (limestone, magnesite, re-fractories, etc) or drying (foundry moulds, ore, sand, etc),as also for increasing the plasticity of metals before plastic working. Many heating furnaces are used for heat treatment of metals, in which the structure of metals undergoes certain changes. All heating furnaces are characterized by the common feature that the materials processed in them remain in the same state of aggregation. Furnaces in each of these two groups are classified according to the particular operations they are intended to perform. For instance melting furnaces are used for melting iron, steel copper, etc.
