Teaching Procedures Problems and situations Students’ activities Purposes Step 1 Greeting and Homework Checking Greet the students and review the things they learnt last class by asking some students to compare the twins in the picture. Greet the teacher, and try to describe the twins using comparative words. Warm the class and lead in the class. Step 2 Presentation 1. Get students to read the conversation in 2d and let students get clear on the meaning of every sentence and some important phrases especially “which one”, “though”. 2. Show the key words of every sentence on the blackboard and ask students to retell every sentence. 3. Ask students to read the conversation in pairs and role-play the conversation. 1. Read the dialogue and listen to the teacher to explain the key language points. 2. Try to role-play the conversation with partners. Learn the meanings of each sentence. Play the conversation according to the key words. Step 3 Grammar Focus 1. Read the grammar box first. Divide the class into two groups. One group read the statements and the other read the responses. 2. Help the students find out the main structure of each sentence. 1.
