We are very excited about the opportunity to participate in this study and help MCI prepare for the future by developing a vision to provide seamless support services to all employees in a customer friendly and cost effective manner. We believe that Andersen is uniquely qualified to participate in this effort: We have recently completed assignments related to payroll processes for both Corporate and Consumer Markets. These projects included a study of the entire payroll process which spans Payroll, Human Resources and Treasury. As a result, we are already up the learning curve in understanding the current environment and culture at both the business unit and corporate levels. We plan to leverage this knowledge by combining continuity of our project team members together with experts in our Firm who have knowledge of human resources issues and technologies which can enable change. Our Firm resources and knowledge of Best Practices are unmatched. We believe that stimulating thought by examining the best practices of other companies is a powerful tool for redesigning processes. Our Global Best Practices Knowledge Base is a virtual library of information available at our fingertips through CD ROM technology. We have a proven track record and reputation for developing conclusions based on the facts and building a sound business case for change. Our Cross Functional Cost Analysis technique allows us to effectively identify high cost process activities and provides baseline information to support the cost benefit analyses.
