Exercise: Finding evaluating information for your arguments Here are some debate motions. Choose a couple that interest you. Take a side, and then do your research to find reliable information that may help you to build your arguments. Decide on your approach to do thorough and systematic research, considering the following questions . Do your research, collect and evaluate the information using the criteria you have learned from this unit.  Do you want to start with any facts and opinions concerning the topic? Or do you want to form some claims first, and then, find facts and expert opinions to support them?  Or, do you want to use general organizations such as problem-cause-solution as a frame, to guide your research? If so, what is the general organization you will use to collect information?  And, What do you think are the strengths and weaknesses of each approach?  Where will you go to find reliable facts, and experts’ opinions?
