Teaching procedures ( 教学步骤 ): Step I ：Lead in (8 minutes) The teacher shows the dialogue to the students and asks students to find out the clauses, that is, the adverbial clauses. Then ask the students to brainstorm the kinds of the Adverbial Clauses. Purpose: to draw students ’ attention by showing the interesting dialogue between the two familiar characters. Step II ：Revise the Adverbial Clauses one by one . The teacher divides the students into two groups ----- boys and girls. Then ask the students to choose one kind of the clauses and answer questions to get points. 1. Adverbial Clauses of Time ( 时间状语从句 ) 1）Ask students to do multiple-choice to know the difference among “ when” , “while ” and “as” . Ask students to think about other conjunctions and write sentences by themselves. Then ask students to correct mistakes by themselves and explain the important and difficult points. Ask students to translate three sentences to know different meanings of “before ” 2.
