Key phrases: be at war , be similar to, bring up, follow one’s advice, from state to state, look after. 3. Key sentences: 1). Ancient China was a place where states were often at war with each other. 2). Mencius was a thinker whose teachings were very similar to those of Confucius. 3).His father died when he was young, and he was brought up by his mother. 4).However, when he saw that the ruler was not following his advice, he resigned. 5).Mencius believed that the reason why man is different from animals is that man is good. 4. Help students to know something about some great people and inventions in ancient China such as : Confucius, Mencius , Mozi and their teaching thoughts. 能力目标 1.Train students’ reading skills, such as skimming, scanning , careful reading and finding correct information. 2. Have a better understanding of the three famous philosophers of ancient China. 3.Improve students’ oral English by retelling the text. 情感态度价值观 1.Inspire students’ good feelings of love for our motherland and the sense of pride to the great thought and civilization of our motherland . 2.Understand C
