一、创设情境，切入主题
Step 1 ： Lead－ in
Lead－in by discussing the following question ：
What do you know about Niagara Falls and the Statue of Liberty
Discuss in groups for three minutes.Then let some students
in front of the class.

Step 2 ： Listening
Listen to the tape and know about the main points of the text.At the same time ，
fill in the blanks with the words you hear.

Finish the task in class orally.
Step 3 ： Reading
Read the text and answer the following questions ：
1.What language do people speak in Canada ？
2.What colour is the flag of the U.S. ？
Finish the task in class orally.
Step 4 ： Practice
Ask the students to write a note to introduce Canada and the U.S.
Work in groups to finish the task.After a while ， let some groups present their
notes in front of the class.
Whenthe students are preparing ， the teacher walks around the classroom to solve
the problems that probably happen.
Step 5 ： Come to “Let ’s Do It ！ ”
Read the passage again ， and ask the students to finish Exercises 1 — 2.
Ask the students to finish Exercise 4 in groups.
