Teaching Plan
Step 1.Leading-in and pre-reading.
Watch a short movie.
Talk about something about robots with the help of some pictures. Learn the following:
What does the robot look like? Shapes():cat; clock; human; snake
What can the robot do? talk with people;dance; walk ;do housework; work in factories
They can do the same things as humans.
Step 2.Predicting

Ask students to read the topic of the article and the picture.Help students to guess what the article is about from them.
Check students’answers(Robots in the future).
Teach the reading skill(Predicting the main idea of an article from the topic and the pictures in it).
Step 3. Skimming
SB 2b
Read the article and match each paragraph with the question it discusses.Help students go through Paragraph 1 as an example and teach them the reading skill(Summing up the main idea of a paragraph according to the same words in the statement as in the paragraph).
Ask students to go on with the other 3 paragraphs.
Check the answers.
Step 4.Careful reading.
Read Paragraph 1 and answer the questions below:
.In what kind of movies can we sometimes see robots?
.What are the robots like?
Check students’answers.
Teach students the reading skill(Pay special attention to the key words and details).
B.Listen to Paragraph 2 and fill in the blanks.
