ABSTRACTPolybutylene(PB)，called’Iplastic ABSTRACT Polybutylene(PB)，called’Iplastic gold”，which has excellent temperature resistance， durability，chemical stability and plasticity，tasteless，odorless，non-toxic，is om ofthe world’S most sophisticated chemical rmterials，Hot water pipe rmde ofthe PB material，has excellent resistance to siress cracking，creep resistance，and light weight,flexibility，hi曲impact resistance，but the oxygen transmission rate of the hot water pipeline than the average pipe is higher，which is easy to cause the bacteria algae to breed，affecting water quality and pipe using quality in the inner ofthe tube，SO research on the PB pipe barrier properties is of great significance． Currently，materials with high barrier properties and research methods on barrier properties are various，MXD6 as semi-crystalline aromatic nylon,provided with good transparency,heat resistance，puncture resiStance，gas barrier properties，oxygen permeability rate 1 0 times slmller than nylon,and maintaining a higher barrier properties in high humidity，is widely used in food，packaging,medical and other fields．Therefore，MXD6／PB barrier system was prepared by melt blending，the performances and the process conditions were studled in this article． Firstly，the melt characteristics of MXD6，PB and MXD6／PB blends were studied by capillary rheorneter，the results showed that：PB，MXD6 and MXD6／PB are pseudo plastic fluid；the viscosity versus the change of shear rate of PB is itDre obviously，the viscosity of MXD6 is mainly affected by temperature，and to prepare MXD6／PB blends processing layered structure，a bw shear rate should be available，controlied between the 50S～一125S～， temperature contro lied above 240℃． Secondly，the barrier properties of the MXD6／PB blends was characterized by the way ofoil absorption rate，the results show that when the MXD6：PB at 7030，the content of the compatNilizing agent in total at 4phr，the screw speed at 30r／min,the Blends has the lowest oil absorption rate，namely，th
