Learn some useful words and expressions  2. Knowledge of the topic: to learn sth. about Yuan Longping and his great achievements. Ability aims: Train the students’ reading ability by skimming ,scanning and summarizing etc. Help develop students’ good reading habits. 三、学情分析 本校属于农村学校，大多数学生来自农村家庭，对农业了解较多，也贴近他们的生活，让学生不但学习袁隆平院士的科研精神，而且还要学习他不计较名利、踏踏实实的生活态度.学生平时在阅读课还是掌握了一定的阅读技巧，如快读细读等，所以在课文理解方面不会有很大问题。但他们的语言表达能力不够，所以在输出这个方面会有困难。 四、教学策略选择与设计 1.Fast reading to make the students get the main idea of the passage. 2.Careful reading and explanation to make the students understand the passage better. 3.Talking, questioning-and-answering activity and reading. 五、教学重点及难点 Teaching important points: To get students to read the text and learn something about the scientist, his great achievements and his personality. To improve students reading skills. To grasp the usage of some words , phrases and sentences in the text. Teaching difficult points: How to help them to form a good habit of reading.
