Andy,everacuriousboy,walkeduptothesnowman.Whyareyouwearingsuchthickclothes?Areyou
cold?Thesnowmanshookhishead.Wanttogoplay?Andyasked.Thesnowmannoddedandtheyspentthedayrunningthroughthewoods,playinghide-and-seek.Asthesunset,thesnowmanwavedgoodbyeto

torches(火把).Thestrikewascruel.Oneofhiscoaleyeswasknockedout,rollingdownintothesnowfield.As
thesnowmandesperatelytriedtoflee, Andy’sfatherstruckhimwithalittletorch,settinghiscoatonfire.
Themeltingsnowmanrolledaround,strugglingtoputouttheblazingflames.Ashismeltingbodyextinguishedtheflames,thesnowmanfledthevillageofSundial.
