I will analyze this lesson from the following 5 parts: the analysis of teaching material, the analysis of students, teaching methods, teaching procedures, and blackboard design. Now, let’s go to Part 1 The analysis of teaching material I divide this part into 3 aspects. 1. Status and function This lesson is a reading passage,which focused on the topic of April Fool ’s Day. Such a topic is related to our daily life, so it is easy to arouse the Ss’ learning interests. As we all know, reading has a great effect on speaking and writing. Therefore this lesson is in the important position of the teaching material. 2. Teaching aims For knowledge aim, Ss can learn the new words and new phrasessuch as announce, hoax, discovery, cancel, lady, officer and sell out by the end of this lesson. And understand the main idea of the article. For ability aim, Ss will improve their reading skills: they will learn to skim for the main idea of the article and scan for the specific information. Also they will enlarge the relative knowledge about western festivals by reading more materials in library or from internet. For emotional aim, I aim to develop Ss’spirit of cooperation through teamwork and group-discussion. And arouse Ss ’ interest in English learning. 3. Teaching important points and difficult points.
