Sentence patterns such as sb. is doing sth. will be frequently encountered in the course of reading. By reading this TV report, students’ reading skills such as fast reading and detailed reading, and the skill in retelling will be improved. Moreover, it hopes to arise students’ interests about traditional Chinese Festivals like Dragon Boat Festival. 2) Process and methods(过程与方法) By adopting the methods of direct teaching, task-based teaching and heuristic teaching and by setting different types of group competitions, it hopes to help students understand this report about Zhu Hui deeply and improve their skills reading such as fast reading and detailed reading. In the mean time, it promotes students’ ability in retelling by using the Present Continuous Tense via showing PPT and pictures. 3) Emotion, attitudes and value(情感、态度和价值) This report actually touches one of the most important festivals in ChinaDragon Boat Festival. By reading this passage, students can get familiar with the social customs and manners in this festival like making zongzi, eating zongzi and holding dragon boat races. Thus, it broadens students’ knowledge about Chinese culture.
