Vocabulary Focus
To get students to talk about the main topic of this unit in a comfortable and relaxed manner
? Ask students to look at the pictures. Read EXAMPLE aloud and elicit words and expressions we use to talk about the future.
? Give students several minutes to look
at each picture and have students think about what their plans and hopes are.
Organize students into pairs to share their ideas.
Conduct class feedback. Get students to report on their partners plans.

To teach students new vocabulary related to life goals
? Have students listen and repeat the words, teaching the definition for each one. Make sure students are familiar with the word goal, you can
ask them what goals they have.
For the words intern, degree, and the phrase social activity, ask students: Have you ever been an intern? When will you get your degree? What are the social activities you enjoy the most?
Make sure students know the adjectives short-term, long-term and outstanding. Try to have students come up with a sentence for each one. You can do this with simple questions, such as: Who is the most outstanding person you know? Do you have any short-term plan or long-term plan?
For the verb participate, you can review tenses by having students come up with sentences in any tense they have recently studied.
Have students complete Exercise B and then switch books. Go through the answers, calling on different students each time. Correct any mistakes.
