It is characterized as a company which embraces (world-class at the time ) technological innovation to maintain technical superiority and cost efficiency in the marketplace . The main products of it is clay bricks and pavers . The competitive strategies and position in Australia Strategy ONE: Three major acquisitions between 1982 and 1992 Outcomes: Adding manufacturing capacity and providing additional sales outlets. Strategy TWO: Three-stage , 5 million program of modernization between 1982 and 1986 Outcomes: The only brick company supplied products with Australian Products Standard Strategy Three: Some flexible policies to adapt the market changes By halving production and closing one plant for 10 months in 1991 it survived the severe economic recession that hit Victoria. It extended into the South Australia and New South Wales marketplace , where product quality and service were being used to overcome price and transport barriers to competition. Position in Australia: It had successfully been the market leadership through technology and had a good reputation in the market .The company was adaptable ,able to make decisions quickly ,having a close rapport with repeat customers , and constantly examining its strategies to produce long-term success. In 1998 ,it had established itself as the dominant player in rural Australia and a more broadly diversified company in the clay and concrete brick and paver business.
