This video demonstrates how to add, modify, and delete sites using a text file. There are several options provided to configure sites. One option is generating a text file on the CAS.This method might be the best choice when many sites need to be added or require frequent changes.The text file can be modified any time site configuration changes are needed.Sites added with the text file option are designated external and cannot be modified in the site configuration utility.It’s a good idea to check the site configuration utility for any manually created sites.These will not be updated with the text file.Best practice is to either create sites manually with the configuration utility or automatically with the text file.Mixing these two methods can complicate site management, particularly if many sites are involved.To begin, we will create a text file that defines the sites to be added.It is recommended to use a plain text editor such as Notepad or Notepad++ to create or modify the files.Word processing applications may introduce characters that cannot be processed by the CAS.The text contained within the file as well as the name of the file itself must follow specific rules.The name of the file must begin with locations and end with .configThe first configuration line specifies the site name and IP address or address range.That is followed by an optional comment.Next, the area is defined.Finally, the region is specified.This format can be repeated as often as needed to define each site.You can also create multiple files to streamline organization and maintenance.Save the files to a staging area such as the CAS desktop.The site definitions can be implemented immediately or at a later time such as d
