Have you ever wondered why department stores look similar all over the
world?
(a) They all sell the same things.
(b) They expect shoppers to do the same things.
(c) They belong to the global village, not to the local culture.
(d) The people who own them don ’t have much imagination.
Answer the questions.

there?
Shoppers move into the shop from the street, and they get used to the idea that
they are about to start shopping.

They attract people into the store. People would not usually look for them so
they need to be made to pass them.

◇ Because women are at the centre of the fashion market.
◇ Women spend more time and money in shops than men.

Because people who want to buy them are loyal customers and will look for

To make sure that all the goods on display are seen by the shoppers.

To give the store a new look and make customers buy new things.

Because research shows that it makes people want to spend money.
