部分总体法（或分子分母法） 图表作文很多时候会遇到百分比，很有可能会用到proportion 或者percentage。然而很多同学经常会用错。怎么确保准确性呢？ 首先，你要问自己，这个数字，譬如说15%代表是什么整体里的一部分。 整体应该是整个国家的劳动人口 （the country’s working population） 而15%代表的是在制造业工作的人口 （those working in the manufacturing sector） 常见的错误是The proportion of manufacturing，因为制造业不是这个圆的一部分，而是制造业的劳动人口。因此正确的表达1是 The proportion of people working in the manufacturing sector 可以说：The proportion of people working in the manufacturing sector (部分) declined from 15% to 9.8%. 正确表达2： People who worked in the manufacturing sector （部分）accounted for 15% of the country’s working population （整体）. 切记，当使用account for, make up, represent, constitute, comprise 的时候，主语不可以是figure, 也不可以是proportion。 常见错误1：（the figure for/the proportion of 都不可以出现）people who worked in the manufacturing sector accounted for 15% of the country’s working population. 常见错误2：(the proportion of还是不可以出现，因为后面有accounting for) people who worked in the manufacturing sector was highest, accounting for 15% of the country’s working population. 常见错误3：the number of people who …..错的。因为英文“the number of”指的是人数，而不是百分比。 正确表达3： 15% of the country’s workforce （整体） worked in the manufacturing sector. 学生常问问题： 问题1：Percentage和proportion 可否替换？ 回答：可以 问题2：可以有什么替换词替换percentage 吗？ 可以说：the figure for …. 举例：the proportion of people working for the manufacturing sector=the figure for the manufacturing sector 其他例子 例子1 The table gives information about students’ opinions on different aspects of courses they attended in a university in 2012.
