Section Ⅱ　Grammar 形容词和副词的比较级和最高级;用形容词和副词表示比较级和最高级的几个重要句型： 1．“比较级形式＋than”意为“比……更” That’s easier said than done.说比做容易。 It is much cheaper to post a long report than to fax it. 邮寄一份长篇报告比发传真便宜得多。;2．“...as＋原级＋as...”意为“和……一样” The building is as high as the tower. 这幢建筑和那座塔一样高。 This picture is as beautiful as that one. 这幅画和那幅一样漂亮。 What I did was as good as that of a normal person. 我所做的和一个正常人做的一??好。;3．“...not as/so＋原级＋as...”意为“不及……” Luckily the weather was not so/as wet as it is today. 幸运的是，那天天气没有今天潮湿。 My dictionary is not as/so useful as yours. 我的词典不如你的有用。;4．表示倍数的三个句型 (1)表示A是B的几倍时，主要有下面几种表达方式： ①倍数＋形容词(或副词)的比较级＋than ②倍数＋as＋形容词(或much)原级或副词原级＋as ③倍数＋ the size(length，width，height...) of ;This room is twice bigger than that one. 这个房间比那个房间大两倍。 This bridge is three times as long as that one. ＝This bridge is three times the length of that one 这座桥是那座的3倍长。;(2)用名词表示“量”的倍数时，则用以下两个句型： ①倍数＋more＋名词(可数/不可数)＋than There are four times more books in our library than in yours. 我们图书馆藏书(数量)是你们图书馆藏书的四倍。 (我们图书馆藏书比你们的多三倍) We have produced twice more grain this year than we did last year. 我们今年生产的谷物比去年增长了一倍。(是去年的两倍) ;②倍数＋as many(或much)＋名词＋其他＋as After the technique was introduced，the factory produced twice as many tractors in 2009 as the year before.采用新技术以后，那个工厂2009年生产的拖拉机是前一年(2008年)的两倍。(比前一年增长一倍) There is three times as much water in this pot as in that one. 这个壶里的水是那个壶里的三倍。;5．“比较级＋and＋比较级”意为“越来越……” It bees colder and colder when winter es. 冬天来了，天气变得越来越冷了。 Our school is being more and more beautiful. 我们学校变得越来越美丽。;6．“the＋比较级．..，the＋比较级．..”意为“越……，越……” The more，the better.越多越好。 The more we have，the more we want.人欲无穷。 The more we get together，the happier we’ll be. 相聚越多，我们越快乐。;7．“否定词＋比较级结构”表示最高级含义 He has never spent a more worrying day. 他过了最忧虑的一天。 I have never seen such a horrible thing in all my life. 我一辈子也没见过这么恐怖的事。(这件事最恐怖);8．the＋最高级＋in/of...三个或三个以上中最…… He is the tallest in his class.他是班上最高的。 He is the tallest of the boys in his class. 他是他班上男孩子中最高的一个。;注意：常见的修饰比较级的修饰语有：rather，much，still，even，far，a
