Step 2 Work out the rule
2.Study the rule of it as empty subject.
3.Review the sentences and try to conclude: “it” is often used to refer to “the time, the season, the weather, the distance, the temperature”.
4.Observe the three sentences and conclude it as the empty subject to replace a to-infinitive.
