Professor XU Wen believes that the changes in the manifestatio of tongues have great significance for the syndrome differentiation and treatment of diseases in children，and the ipection of tongues is important for the syndrome differentiation and treatment of cough in children. Professor XU Wen pays more attention for protecting and strengthening spleen and stomach during the medication for children cough，and is good at the simultaneous application of cold and heat herbs. Professor XU Wen proposed that for the syndrome differentiation and staging differentiation of children cough，therapy for dispeing and expelling exterior pathoge with light herbs as well as simultaneous application of cold and heat herbs should be used for the early stage cough，regulating spleen for chronic cough to achieve supplementing spleen to strengthen lung， prescription of modified Xiebai Powder for phlegm-heat cough with predominant heat，prescription of modified Qianjin Weijing Decoction for damp-heat cough with the predominance of both damp and heat，and prescription of modified Zhisou Powder for wind-phlegm cough。 Keyword：　cough in children; ipection of tongues; dispeing and expelling exterior pathoge with light herbs; supplementing spleen to strengthen lung; Xiebai Powder; Qianjin Weijing Decoction; Zhisou Powder; XU Wen; 小儿咳嗽是儿科临床的多发病、难治病，以咳嗽、咯痰为主要表现。临床上通常予常规抗感染、化痰、止咳等西医治疗，但治疗后患儿的咳嗽仍多有反复，迁延难愈。频繁、剧烈的咳嗽不仅会影响患儿的休息、睡眠和学习，还会妨碍患儿的呼吸系统发育。中医药具有审证求因、审因论治、标本兼顾等辨证施治的优势，临床疗效确切。徐雯教授为广东省名中医，擅长运用中医药治疗儿科多发病及疑难病，尤其对小儿咳嗽的中医诊疗有自己系统、独到的见解。笔者有幸跟师学习，现将徐雯教授治疗小儿咳嗽的经验整理如下。 1、 小儿疾病之诊断尤重舌诊 “小儿方术，号曰哑科，口不能言，脉无所见”。小
