Analysis on Chinas Soybean Imports Abstract: In recent years, the demand of Chinas domestic soybean has increased sharply, but the increase of output is very slow, which is difficult to meet the demand. Most of the domestic soybean demand mainly depends on imported soybeans, and the dependence on foreign countries is as high as 80%,so China has become the largest import soybean country in the world. A large number of foreign soybeans almost occupy the whole soybean market in China, which has a profound impact on soybean industry in China. Therefore, how to increase the output of domestic soybean and improve its international competitiveness is very crucial. This paper uses descriptive statistics to sort out the data of soybean planting area, yield, consumption, import quantity and source country of import over the years, and studies the status and existing problems of Chinas soybean import trade, and proposes the following strategies: reducing domestic soybean demand, actively looking for soybean substitutes, improving the self-sufficiency rate of domestic soybean, actively opening up soybean import channels, building Chinas non genetically modified soybean brands and further increasing national soybean policy support.
