Show some examples of how the sentence work. 教学过程 ◆Step 3 Presentation Questions on inference: We should remember the following points when we do the questions on inference. We need to infer by the information provided by the passage strictly. Personal ideas or opinions should not be put into it. If some choice is the simple repetition of the context, then it’s not the inference, which means that it is not the correct answer. If some choice is quite right according to the text and experience, but not contained in the passage. Then it is not the right answer but the personal opinions. If some choice is mentioned in the passage but not complete, then it’s not the right answer. The modal verb like should, must, may, etc usually express the opinions of the writer, which is helpful for us to get the correct answer. We need to notice the words of the passage like too, excessively, rather, which usually contains the negative tone.
