Actually it should be 100 %! BUT what is interesting to observe is that number 2, 3, and 4 (preventive medical care, nutrition, and behavior) have a very high ranking and that these services are related to the “healthy” pet. In other words, today the pet owner expects the vet to take care of the overall health of their pet (in the USA they even invented a new word : the wellness), and not only of the sick and injured patient. Moreover, if the vet was only to take care of the sick and injured pet, the veterinary economy would be in a dangerous position. What is important to notice in such a survey is that clients are themselves expecting THE VET to take care of these services and not the trainer, the pet shop, the breeder, the pharmacist, etc. * * * When we consider a veterinary activity, we could compare it to a row boat… with two roars: one is technical (medicine and surgery), the other one is economical. Obviously if you force on one side, your boat will go in circle… you will lose strength. You will move slowly.
