Owing to the volcanic eruptions, Wudalianchi region enjoys abundant natural cold mineral water. Yaoquan Town is the comprehensive tourist service center of the scenic area. It covers above 10 square kilometers with many scenic spots. The town owes its name to the miraculous mineral water. Laoheishan Volcano is also known as Heilong Volcano, which is one of the typical volcanoes in our country. It erupted in 1720, and in the next year, it erupted once more. According to historical materials, up to now, this volcano has erupted for 6 times. The name of Heilong (Black Dragon) Volcano came from the fact that its geomorphology shape is just like a black dragon. No matter it is covered by the green vegetation in summer or by the white snow in winter, the black brilliance of the volcano can be seen clearly. Heilong Volcano is 515.9 meters above sea level, and it’s the second largest volcano in Wudalianchi area. Crystal Palace is over 150 meters long, and 23 meters deep. The average temperature in the cave is -5℃. There are different kinds of grotesque lava on the wall of the cave and lava stalactites hanging from the cave ceiling. What is more, the whole cave is covered with frostwork which is like white jade. The frostwork is so glittering, translucent, clean and elegant. The perpetual ice under our feet has gone through thousands of years. Enjoying the beautiful ice and snow in dog days is one of the marvellous spectacles in Wudalianchi.
