Review vocabulary words from previous class such as “desk”, “chair”, “board”, etc. Play the game “What’s Missing?” to review vocabulary words. Step 2 Presentation Show pictures of different items in the classroom such as “book”, “pencil”, “ruler”, “door”, etc. Ask the students “What is this?” and encourage them to answer. Introduce the sentence pattern “Is this a/an…?” by asking “Is this a book?” and answering “Yes, it is” or “No, it isn’t”.
