Subject STAT203– Business Statistics. There are not prerequisite courses for this course. 2. Classes (compulsory , per week over a 10 week semester) One lecture (3 hours) One lab (1 hour) 3. Course Content This course gives an introduction to the basic concepts and techniques used in statistics. You will be tested primarily on how well you can solve statistical problems and on your understanding of statistics. Note that this is a basic course. Other courses (like econometrics and financial management) will all be based on the knowledge and understanding you acquired from this basic course. During the lectures you will be introduced to the concepts and demonstrations how to apply them. During the tutorials the instructor will ask you to work on assignments in the class that will help you acquire the necessary skills to master the subjects. Computer labs will also be arranged. Your instructor will demonstrate how to use Microsoft Excel to do statistical analysis, and then you will be asked to do class exercises. Your instructor will bring examples of “real life” applications to the classroom to show you how the theory links with reality and help you understand the statistical issues in real world during this course. 4. Objectives After completing STAT203 you should be able to: 1. Demonstrate an understanding of statistical principles. 2. Present and Describe
