中国茜草亚科植物花粉形态学研究的中期报告 China is home to a large number of plant species and their pollen morphology holds a lot of importance in identifying and classifying different taxa. The current research focuses on the study of pollen morphology of plants belonging to the Chinese madder subfamily. The study has been ongoing and is reported to be in the mid stages. So far, several samples have been collected from various regions of China, including the Yunnan province. The collected samples are being examined under a light microscope and SEM (scanning electron microscope) to study the morphological and anatomical details of the pollen grains. Preliminary results of the research indicate that the pollen grains are variable in shape and size, with a variety of ornamentations on the exine surface. The ornamentations include reticulate, striate, and verrucate types, and some grains show spines or tubercles on their surface. Further analysis is being conducted to determine if there is any correlation between the pollen morphology and plant ecology or phylogeny. The research will also help in the identification and classification of plants belonging to the Chinese madder subfamily. Overall, the mid-term report suggests that the research is progressing well and has the potential to contribute significantly to the field of plant taxonomy and biodiversity conservation in China.
