1用法

用法一过去某一时间点内正在进行时的状态或动作。Shewasshoppingat9yesrerday.她昨天9点正在购物。

用法二过去某时间段正在进行时的状态或动作。Iwas?staying?here?from?March?to?May?last?year.去年从3月到5月，我一直呆在这里。

区别:在时间状语从句中，如果主句动作和背景句动作都是延续的或同时发生的，那么主从句的动词都可用过去进行时。如：HewascleaninghiscarwhileIwascooking.他擦车时我在做饭。(同时发生从句中必须是过去进行时，while从句中动词为延续性动词）HewascleaningwhenIcameback.（when从句中是一般过去时或过去进行时，主句是过去进行时，when从句中是非延续性动词或延续性动词）Or:Hewascleaningwhenhewascooking.while从句只能是V.ingwhen从句中V.可以是V.ing也可以是过去式
