Sincetheearly1990s,bothcompaniesandcitizenshavebeeninvestinginsolar,windandbio-energypowerplants.Theseinvestmentsaresupportedbyanattractiveandstablelegalframework.Germany’senergyrevolutioniswellunderwayandmovingforwardwithgreatmomentum.Morethan1.5millionrenewablepowerplantshavebeeninstalledinGermanyoverthepast25years.Aworldrecord!Renewablesnowproduceover27%oftheelectricityconsumedinGermany.Butthisisjustthebeginning.Germany’senergytransitionispursuingambitiousgoals.It’splannedthatby2050theemissionofgreenhousegaseswillhavebeenreducedby80%-95%.Toachievethis,energyconsumptionwillbereducedby50%andatleast80%ofelectricitywillcomefromrenewables.
