Dieselenginesarestartedbysupplying提供compressedair压缩空气intothecylindersintheappropriate适当的sequence顺序fortherequired所需的direction方向.StartingAirSystem

Upto12startsarepossiblewiththestoredquantity数量ofcompressedair.StartingAirSystem

Compressedairissuppliedbyaircompressorstotheairreceivers.Thecompressedairisthensuppliedbyalargeborepipe大口径管道toaremoteoperatingnon-return遥控止回orautomaticvalve自动阀andthentothecylinderairstartvalves气缸空气启动阀.Openingofcylinderairstartvalvewilladmit允许进入compressedairintothecorresponding相应的cylinder.StartingAirSystem

EachcylinderstartvalveisopenedwhenthepistonisjustpastTDCandclosedjustbeforetheexhaustvalveopens.Thereisalwaysmorethanoneairstartvalveopen,whichensuresthattheenginewillstartinanyposition位置.StartingAirSystem

PilotAirSystem

Thepilotair控制空气isdrawnfromthelargepipeandpassestoapilotaircontrolvalve控制阀whichisoperatedbytheengineairstartlever操纵杆,手柄.Whentheairstartleverisoperated,supplyofpilotairenablestheromotevalvetoopen.StartingAirSystem

Pilotair控制空气fortheappropriatedirectionofoperationisalsosuppliedtoanairdistributor空气分配器.Thisdeviceisusuallydriven驱动bytheenginecamshaft凸轮轴andsupplies提供pilotairtothecontrolcylindersofthecylinderairstartvalves.Thepilotairisthensuppliedinappropriatesequenceforthedirectionofoperationrequired.StartingAirSystem
