MountFanjingwaslistedasaUNESCOWorldHeritageSitein2018.Thelocalgovernmenthasbeenpromotingsportstourisminthearea,andthemarathonhasbecomeakeypartoftheirefforts.

Inadditiontotherace,therearealsoculturaleventsandactivitiesforrunnersandtheirfamiliestoenjoy.Localpeopleselltraditionalhandicrafts,andtherearespecialfolkperformancesofmusicanddance.Themarathonhasbecomeacelebrationofrurallifeandawaytopromotethebeautyandcultureoftheregion.

Accordingtoareport,therearemorethan30millionroadrunningloversinChina.Inthefirsthalfof2023,therewere303roadrunningeventstakingplaceinChina.Inadditiontowell-knowninternationaleventssuchastheBeijingandShanghaimarathons,theracesheldinruralareashaveattractedmoreandmorerunnerswhowanttoexperiencerunninginavillage.
