Xueba01wasmadebyateamledbyProfessorLiQingdufromtheUniversityofShanghaiforScienceandTechnology.Itwillstudytheatricalandfilmstudies,especiallydigitalperformancedesign.AsanembodiedAI,therobotlearnsartisticcreationbyphysicalinteraction.Itis1.75meterstallandweighsabout30kilograms.Itsflexiblesiliconeskinallowsittomakefacialexpressionsandgesturesthatlookveryhuman.

Duringtheorientation,Xueba01gotitsstudentIDandtalkedwithPanTao,afamousCCTVnewshostandalsoanewPhDstudentatSTA.Aftertheirtalk,Pansaid,Itanswersveryfast.Itusesbothwordsandeyecontact,whichwasmorethanIexpected.
