ThisContractEditingServiceAgreement(theAgreement)ismadeandenteredintoasof[Date],byandbetween[ClientsNameorCompany],a[ClientsLegalStatus]entitylocatedat[ClientsAddress](Client),and[EditorsNameorCompany],a[EditorsLegalStatus]entitylocatedat[EditorsAddress](Editor).
WHEREAS,theClientrequiresprofessionaleditingservicesfor[describethenatureofthedocumentorcontenttobeedited,e.g.,abusinessplan,anovel,atechnicalreport,etc.];and
WHEREAS,theEditorhasthenecessaryskillsandexpertisetoprovidesucheditingservices;
NOW,THEREFORE,inconsiderationofthemutualcovenantsandpromiseshereincontained,thepartiesheretoagreeasfollows:
1.ScopeofServices
TheEditoragreestoprovidethefollowingeditingservicestotheClient:
-[Listthespecificeditingservicestobeprovided,e.g.,proofreading,copyediting,lineediting,developmentalediting,etc.]
-[Specifyanyadditionalservices,suchasformatting,indexing,orprojectmanagement]
TheEditorshallperformtheservicesinaprofessionalandtimelymanner,adheringtothehigheststandardsofeditingpractice.
2.FeesandPaymentTerms
TheEditorshallchargetheClientafeeof[amount]fortheprovisionoftheeditingservices,asdetailedintheattachedinvoice.
Paymentshallbemadeinaccordancewiththefollowingterms:
-[Specifythepaymentschedule,e.g.,uponcompletionoftheeditingservices,upondeliveryoftheediteddocument,etc.]
-[Indicatewhetherthepaymentisdueinfullorininstallments]
-[Includeanyapplicabletaxesorfees]
3.DeliveryofServices
TheEditorshalldelivertheediteddocumenttotheClientwithin[specifythetimeframe,e.g.,7days,2weeks,etc.]fromthedateofreceiptoftheoriginaldocumentandallnecessarymaterials.
4.Confidentiality
BothpartiesagreetomaintaintheconfidentialityofallinformationdisclosedtothemduringthecourseofthisAgreement.Suchinformatio
