BuildinguponDeweysfoundation,DonaldSch?nsTheReflectivePractitioner(1983)introducedtheconceptofreflection-in-actionandreflection-on-action.Reflection-in-actionoccursduringtheteachingprocesswhenteachersmakereal-timeadjustmentsbasedontheirobservationsandunderstandingofclassroomdynamics.Reflection-on-action,conversely,takesplaceafterteaching,asteachersanalyzetheirexperiencestoinformfuturepractice.
