Unit Three Understanding Science Text A --- Public Attitudes toward Science Text B --- How to make sense out of science Objectives Students are supposed to be able to: 1. grasp the content: understanding the main idea (to ensure the survival of human civilization, measures should be taken to help the public understand science) and grasp the form: recognizing the structure of the text (introducing a topic, developing the topic with supporting details, supplying a conclusion); 2. appreciate the style differences between narrative writing and expository writing exhibited in text A of unit 2 and unit 3; 3. assimilate the key language points and grammatical constituents in the text; 4. conduct a series of reading, listening, speaking, and writing activities centered upon the theme of the unit.
