And this discussion covers a period of some three hundred and fifty years. As we know when the Renaissance started from fourteenth century, China was in the Ming dynasty. And during this period, the drama in western countries especially in England occurred some significant, in China also emerged a large numbers of playwrights. This article will talk something about their two different types of drama and make a comparison between them. Tang Xianzu and William Shakespeare representative of drama in these two countries and attain highly prestigious during this period. And this paper explains the reasons of their differences from political, economy and human thoughts. Key words: drama humanism Renaissance I. The drama during the Renaissance in England 1.1 The Renaissance in England and its historical background In 1453, due to the subsidence of Constantinople, the brilliant Greek cultural heritage streamed to the society of Catholic in Western Europe. It caused the western Europeans that were in an ignorant and backward situation during a long time imitate and revive the ancient Greek and Roman culture in every aspects. This is the Renaissance that we always say. Because of the War of Roses within the country and its weak and unimportant position in world trade, Renaissance came later in England than other European countries (Wang, 1992:152).
