M eth ods One hundred and fifty- eight patients w ith IBS w ere d ivided into two groups random ly, group A w as treated w ith glutam ine and trmi ebutine, group B w as treated w ith berberine hydro hleride and b ifidoba terium apsu les, they were g iven for two w eeks respe tively. The severity of d iarrhea, abdom inal pain and abdom inal d istention and hanges in sei zure frequen y w ere observed at 14 th day, respe tively.
