Trinal targets:
1.Language goals: Understand the development in advertising and the different attitudes towards ads; learn the basic principle of advertising
2. Ability
goals: To train the ability of seizing information and the use of it; to train the abilities of thinking and solving problems alone
3.Morality
goals: To train how to analyze different things and have critical attitudes towards anything Teaching difficult points: Understanding the related knowledge to ads and training the abilities of analyzing and solving problems. Teaching key points: The understanding of the passage and analyzing difficult sentences Teaching methods: Student-centered study, practice Teaching aids: Multimedia teaching technique, reference materials. Designing idea: Fully embody the “student-centered” teaching idea and give them complete autonomy to develop their learning ability. Periods of lesson: 1 period

Show one picture of ad and introduce the title of the lesson--Advertising
Step2 Pre-reading
The teacher shows students some ads to enjoy and try to get some information about ads
Step3 Reading
Show some questions to the students to answer in about 6-7minutes and to understand the whole passage
What different reactions towards ads do people have?
What is the basic principle of advertising?
Why do advertisers work hard to attract people ’attention? And in order to do so, what would they better do?
How does advertising help consumers and the companies?
What is the most important function of advertising? And from ads, what information can consumers get?
Why do the governments use the ad campaigns?
How can consumers spot bad ads?
What is a “bait-and –switch” ads?
