Abstract: The pattern and mi pacting factors of leaf senescencewere studied to provide the reference for
the planting technology and breeding to resistpremature senescence in rice. E ighteen of hybrid rice combina
tionswere used. The lmi ited and conventional irrigantion managements were compared after the heading of
rice. The declinepercentage of leaf area, dryweigh,t N content, and chlorophyl content ( SPAD value) were
determ ined so as to appoach to leaf senescence and senescent frequency. Therewere three types of decline
patterns: rapid decline ( typeA), intermediate decline ( type B), and slow decline ( type C). The leaf se
nescence indicators in type A and C exhibited consistent. Some indicators in type B changed at different
