32 　4 Vol.32　No.4 2009 4 Journal of Beijing Sport University Apr.2009 郭守靖 (, 　321004) 　:, 。 , , 。, 、 , 、、, 。, “”, “”, “”, “ 、、、”, 。 , , “”。 :;;;;; :G80　　:A　　:100 -3612(2009)04-002 -04 On Confucian Spirit of Wushu from a Cultural Perspective GUO Shou-jing (College of Physical Education and Health Sciences, Zhejiang Normal University, Jinhua 321004, Zhejiang China) Abstract:Spirit is the essence of Wushus philosophy and soul.With hisprofound influence on the Chinese traditional cul- ture for over two thousand years, Confucian pedagogic philosophy undoubtedly shed its impact on the development of Wushu, especially on the spirit embodied.This paper, from a cultural perspective, first reviews relevant literature, makes use of the method of comparison and contrast, analyzes Confucius values, view of ethics, and view of body, and further studies their influence on the development of Wushu.The author concludes that the “Six Arts”proposed by Confucius ad- vocates the morality of “bravery with benevolence and justice”, and sticks to the thought of “co-cultivation of intellect and physical strength”, which constitutes the Wushu s spirits of “advocating strength and morality and serving the society, pur- suing harmony and loving the motherland”.Thus, the author suggests we must continue drawing on the Confucianism and the spirits in Wushu, and develop Wushu under the guide line of strengthening “physical health and mental righteousness” in practice.
