How should students regard grades, both good and bad? Are grades as important as they are assumed to be? Do good grades necessarily lead to achievements and bad grades result in failure in a student’s later life?
2. Are you happy or disappointed with the grades you get?
3. Do you think the grades truly reflect one’s ability and potential?
I think they, to some extent, reflect one’s ability, but hardly reflect one’s potential.
4. What’s the theme of this piece of writing?
It is explicitly stated in the first sentence of the third paragraph: to put a B student’s
disappointment in perspective by considering exactly what the grade B means and doesn’t mean.
