His theory of generative grammar, in a number of different forms has been a guide and inspiration for many linguistcs. His foundational work on language has had widespread implications not only for linguistics but also for several other disciplines, most notably philosophical and psychology. Naturally, one’s phenomenal academic achievements and contributions may be strongly backed by his educational background and experiences. Thus for a better understanding of relevant linguistic theories and principles of Chomsky , it would also be of great necessity for us to be well aquianted with his educational background and his early endevours to concentrate on an internalist view of language, which has argued for analysis of language by methodology of the natural sciences, and then proceed to give a description of his leading linguistic theories in his five development stages of TG grammar.
