Based on the Poyang Lake raiwl ay steel truss bridge located in railw ay line Tonglin to Jiujiang, adopting the double ellipsoidal d istribution heat sourcemodel to match the electricalw eld ing, the d istribution of residual stresses of w eld ing joint d istricts of raiwl ay steel bridge is smi ulated. M eanw hile, w e superpose the actualm easured dynam ical stresses of steel components adjacent to the w elding joints of Poyang Lake railw ay steel bridge when the train is crossing the bridge. Then, taking both actions on the accurate fin ite ele ment model, the ru les of residual stresses on vehicle vibration dynam ical stresses inw elding joint d istricts of railw ay steel bridge are obtained, and the conclusion that the residual stresses have a significant effect on the veh icle vibra tion dynam ical stresses in w eld ing joint d istricts of railw ay steel bridge is draw n.
