Abstract : In t hi s p ap er , a mo del wit h one nut rient and two p hytop lankton pop ulation s i s p ropo sed . Condition s for
t he exi st ence and local st abilit y of t he equilibria are obt ained . By mean s of L yap unov function , t he global st abilit y of
t he boundary equilibria are obt ained and some int eresting numerical simulation s are given by mean s of matlab , map le
and matcont . Bi st able p henomena are obt ained at t he boundary equilibrium . The exi st ence of Hopf bifurcation s a
round t he boundary equilibrium and t he int erior equilibrium are di scovered and t hese Hopf bifurcation s can be sup er
critical or subcritical .
