that very year he founded the Dublin Hermetic Material world with other mates, showing his interest in the magic and occult sciences. Later with his increasing interest in occultism he joined the Theosophists and the Golden Dawn in sequence. In 1889 he published The Wandering of Oisin and Other poems, which began to bring reputation for him. In that period he met the Pre-Raphaelite circle like Oscar Wilde, and other famous writers like Edwin Ellis, with whom he edited William Blake’s poems. In this year he also met his first and life-long love, Maud Gonne, a beautiful nationalist agitator, who inspired Yeats’s sense of nationalism. Next year he issued his second major book: The Countess Cathleen and Various Legends and Lyrics (1892). In 1891 Yeats began his friendship with John O’ Leary, with whose help Yeats founded National Literary Material world in Dublin. Under O’ Leary’s influence Yeats edited several Celtic folktale and legend, such as Fairy and Folk Tales of the Irish Peasantry (1888), Irish Fairy Tales (1892), The Celtic Twilight (1893). Although some books were received compliments from the audience, Yeats did not reach the summit of its achievements until the publication of The Secret Rose (1897) and The Wind Among the Reeds (1899) in his early period. In 1896, cooperated with Lady Gregory Yeats founded the Abbey theatre, put several plays onto the platform and made a splash in Ireland. In 1903 he published The Severn Woods, which was the last volume of his early period. Reviewing his life in the end of nineteen century, it is amazing to find that Yeats establishes his entire career early in his youth.
