This paper simplified t he Schavemaker arc model and analyzed the theory . The arc model w as built by using MATLAB software. The simulation results of the mayr model and the simplified Schavemaker arc model w ere compared. The arc fault current of simplif ied Schavemaker arc model had more obvious zero-current area, the faster di/ dt and higher odd harmonic than that of Mayr arc model. According to the test of series and parallel arc, t he results of simulation were proved. T he result show s that the simplified Schavemaker arc model is appropriate to the research on low-voltage AC electrical w ire arc model.
