A n mi proved m ixedmode m ethod w as proposed, and the rev ised form ula o f ca lculating the valid e lastic m odu lu s of com posites w as g iven. The ca lculat iona l resu lts of the valid elast ic m odu li o f tw o com posites show that the biggest error is 9% for the mi proved m ethod and over 23% for the V o ight m odel, the R euss m odel and the H a lpainT sai modified form ula, and the difference betw een the calcu la tiona l and expermi ental curves o f the va lid elast ic m oduli of the tw o com posites is sm all for the mi proved m ethod and g reat for the three m odels.
