《综合英语（4）》教学大纲 一、课程基本信息 课程编号中文名称：综合英语（4） 英文名称：Comprehensive English（4） 适用专业：英语语言文学 课程类别：基础必修课 开课时间：第4学期 总学时：72学时 总学分：4学分 课程简介 本课程主要通过语言基础训练与篇章讲解分析，使学生逐步提高语篇阅读理解能力，了解英语各种文体的表达方式和特点，扩大词汇量和熟悉英语常用句型，具备基本的口头与笔头表达能力。 教学目的、要求与方法 （一）教学目的 本课程采用启发式教学，引导学生独立思考，培养学生的逻辑思维能力，加强综合技能训练，通过教学股东，巩固学生已学词汇，扩大词汇量，获取运用不同修辞手法的能力，将听、说、读、写、译等各种能力有机结合，培养学生综合运用语言的能力，通过对文体分析、篇章结构的讨论进一步培养学生的阅读技能，为大三的相关课程和专业课程的学习打好基础。 （二）教学要求 学生在老师的引导下，了解与课程相关的文学、文化、风土人情等方面的背景知识；掌握新词汇、新知识点；学会分析篇章结构，掌握各种写作技巧，进一步提高阅读理解能力。 （三）教学方法 本课程在讲授过程中采用启发式、讨论式、发现式和研究式的教学方法加强基础训练 教学内容及学时分配： Unit 1 （6学时） Text I This Year It’s Going to Be Different Text II My Financial Career 重点、难点： 1.the essential elements of narration, such as “time sequence, suspense, tone and style” etc. 2.the use of various rhetorical devices that create the comic effect in the story 3. the basic language and grammatical points: the ways to express futurity, the use of over, etc. Unit 2 （6学时） Text I A Englishes B Stop Being Coy Text II Two Languages or One? 重点、难点： Text IA 1.the features of the exposition 2.the subject matter of the text; the style of the English language 3.learning to use English language appropriately according to context and the use Text IB 1.the features of argumentative writing 2.learning something about euphemism, some actual use of euphemism and its effect Unit 3 （6学时） Text I Salvation Text II The Rumor 重点、难点： 1.background knowledge of the writer, Langston Hughs, and his works 2.appreciating this autobiographical essay 3.learning the basic writing techniques---the parallel construction Unit 4 （6学时） Text I Writing Between the Lines Text II Handling the Knowledge Explosion 重点、难点： 1.appreciating this typical piece of argumentation in which the writer argue that writing between the lines is an efficient way of reading 2.some basic knowledge about various devices used in a piece of argumentation such as inductive approach examples of personal opinions, common knowledge, and similes, etc. 3.some language and grammatical points: on
